A local juvenile is being charged as an adult in connection with a sex abuse investigation by the Tate County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigator Destin Johnson identified the suspect as David Austin Brauer, 16, of Senatobia, who is facing one count of sexual battery. Brauer was detained at the Tate County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
Johnson said TCSO opened an investigation after receiving a complaint containing allegations of sexual assault. Brauer was taken into custody Friday, Sept. 9, on Strayhorn Lakes Drive after Circuit Court Judge Jimmy McClure issued an arrest warrant.
The case remains under investigation by TCSO, according to Johnson.
