Escaped Grenada County inmates found; one dead

The United States Marshals Service confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the two inmates that escaped from the Grenada County Jail late Sunday night have been captured.

Guilty pleas in Coahoma college fraud scheme

Mississippi State Auditor Shad White announced Monday, Feb. 6, former Coahoma Community College employees Gwendolyn Jefferson and Stacie Neal were each sentenced to serve five years in prison. Both women pleaded guilty to conspiracy and embezzlement. Neal also pleaded guilty to making fraudulent statements.

Identity of body found in drainage ditch confirmed as Arkansas woman

Authorities have determined that the body discovered Saturday morning in a watery drainage ditch near a Greenwood highway belonged to an Arkansas woman who they believe had been staying at a nearby hotel.
They still don’t know, though, what caused her death.
