Two suspects have been arrested by Coldwater Police Department in connection with a pair of unrelated incidents.
Chief Rickey Dandridge said CPD opened an investigation following a shooting Thursday, Aug. 3, on Powell Extension.
Detective Torey Pulliam conducted multiple interviews and reviewed evidence in the case before receiving a break Sept. 9, with the arrest of a suspect identified by Dandridge as Emmanuel Renix, 17, of Coldwater. Renix was charged with aggravated assault as an adult and released from the Tate County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
Dandridge confirmed a separate crime occurred Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the 600 block of Dougherty Street. Dandridge said Gregory Rowell, 66, of Coldwater, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident. Rowell was released from the Tate County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
Both cases remain under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact Coldwater Police Department at 662-622-7979 or 662-301-1111.
“I want folks in Coldwater to know you can’t just shoot people, even if it’s your own brother, and get away with it,” Dandridge said. “They will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
