Wayne Douglas Hodge, Sr., 95, died February 18, 2023, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Marks Cemetery in Marks, MS. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS handled the arrangements. Mr. Hodge was a Grandmaster three times in the Clarksdale Masonic Lodge and a member of Clarksdale Shriners. He was a Baptist. He was a board member of Moon Lake Water Association. He served in the United States Army from 1945 - 1946. Upon returning home he owned/operated A & N Refrigeration and Electric for 30 years. He then had a 20 year career at Wonder Bread as an electrical engineer, where he eventually retired. Survivors include his son Wayne Hodge (Toni) of Clarksdale, MS; daughters Theresa Ashcraft (Darrell) of Coldwater, MS and Fran Cassidy (Tom) of Moon Lake, MS; grandchildren Travis Ashcraft, Tracy Ashcraft, Chris Cassidy, Chase Hodge, and Madison Hodge and great grandchildren Anna Wallastaffce, Johnathan Ashcraft, Gage Ashcraft and Zachery Ashcraft. He was preceded in death by his wife Dene Wells Warren Hodge; parents Oliver and Addie Pearl Parham Hodge; brother Autrey Hodge and sisters Dale Cole, Ora Fizaculie, Nora Lusk, and Jimmy White.
