There was no shortage of runs for Senatobia baseball last week.
In three wins against Winona, North Panola and Cleveland Central, the Warriors outscored all three opponents by a combined 41-5 total. The action started with a 17-1 victory at Winona, a 12-0 Region 2-3A shutout against North Panola and a 12-4 defeat of Strayhorn last Saturday.
Senatobia hammered out 15 hits in the win against Winona and took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, before adding seven in the third. The Tigers responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth, only for the Warriors to add nine more in the sixth to earn the run-rule.
Sam Richardson led SHS with four hits, while Anthony Newson and Hunter Mabry added three each. Caleb Smith and Tate Gray were also credited with three RBIs.
Carson Kairit delivered another solid outing on the mound, striking out 15 batters in six complete innings.
Senatobia continued the momentum against North Panola, smashing out seven runs in the second and four in the third. The Warriors delivered a final run in the fourth, finishing with nine hits in the 12-0 victory.
Kairit led the Warriors with two hits and three RBIs, while Owen Gayden finished with two hits and two RBIs. Luke Coleman earned eight strikeouts in the win for SHS.
In a Saturday road matchup at Strayhorn, the Warriors took a 6-0 in the top of the first, only for the Mustangs to rally with two runs in the bottom of the inning. After Strayhorn responded with another run in the bottom of the second, the Warriors added two runs in the third to take an 8-3 lead.
Strayhorn responded with another run in the third, but that was as close as the Mustangs would get the rest of the way. Holding an 8-4 advantage against the Mustangs, Senatobia came away with four runs in the top of the seventh to solidify the 12-4 victory.
Senatobia came away with nine hits in the contest, led by four from Garrett Smith and two apiece from Newson and Richardson. Richardson also pitched four complete innings with four strikeouts, while Smith tossed three strikeouts in three innings.
With the perfect week, Senatobia improved to 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in Region 2-3A competition. The Warriors will step back into region competition against Holly Springs on Thursday, April 1.

A big week for the Wildcats resulted in a pair of Region 2-3A victories against Byhalia last Monday.
Independence took a varsity doubleheader at home from Byhalia, defeating the Indians 15-3 and 17-0, improving to 4-7 overall and 2-0 in region play.
In the first game, the Wildcats led off with a run in the bottom of the first, before blowing the door open with four runs in the second and seven more in the third. Byhalia plated three runs in the fourth and Independence responded with three more in the bottom of the fourth, to seal the run-rule victory.
Patrick Hardison and Jayden Watkins led the Wildcats with three hits and four RBIs apiece. Ethan Kile got the win on the mound, tossing eight strikeouts through four innings.
Independence ramped up things even more in the second game, as the Wildcats pounded out 12 runs in the first inning. The Wildcats would end things early with five runs in the second and pitched a scoreless top of the third to earn the 17-0 triumph.
Kile finished with three hits and six RBIs, while Rex Bryant earned three RBIs on three hits. Watkins tossed eight strikeouts in three innings.
Independence will step back into region competition this week with a pair of matches against North Panola on March 30 and April 1.

Region 1-2A competition has not been kind to Strayhorn so far, as the Mustangs were swept by East Union in a pair of games last week.
Strayhorn’s losses to the Urchins dropped the Mustangs to an 0-4 start in region play and a 5-7 overall record.
Strayhorn will look to rebound with a pair of games against Walnut this week. The Mustangs will host the Wildcats on Tuesday, March 30, before traveling to Walnut on Thursday, April 1.
