Tate County Soil and Water Conservation District gave 2,350 tree seedlings to the community free of charge Friday, Feb. 9. Seedlings included Loblolly Pine, Cherrybark Oak, Nuttall Oak, Shumard Oak, White Oak, Pecan, Persimmon, Button Bush, Eastern Redbud, Tulip Poplar, Sourwood, Lynwood Gold Forsythia, Blackberries, Dogwood, Brawn Turkey Fig and Crepe Myrtle. Funding for the project was provided by the following generous sponsors: TDL Contractor, Tate County Co-op, BankFirst, MS Land Bank, Nail Forestry, First Financial Bank, Tate County Farm Bureau, Lamar & Hannaford and Headwaters, Inc.
