Coldwater has tabbed a Memphis media personality as grand marshal of its annual Christmas parade.
Fox 13 news anchor Darcy Thomas will lead the parade around the Coldwater town square Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.
A native of Chicago, Thomas calls Memphis home. She began her career in Jonesboro, Ark. at KAIT-TV8. After two years there, Thomas moved to Peoria, Ill., to continue her career at WMBD-TV Channel 31 and eventually became weekend news anchor.
Thomas joined Fox 13 in Memphis as a reporter in 2001. She is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago and received her degree in broadcast journalism. She was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Memphis Association of Black Journalists of the Television of Arts Society at Columbia College.
Thomas has worked with several organizations over the years including Friends of People with Aids. She married in August 2003 and has two daughters.
