There was plenty to learn and do at the Tate County/MSU Extension Health Fair and a modest crowd showed up to learn how to live life a little better.
“The crowd is good and we have about 20 vendors and agencies here,” said Kim Powers, Tate County Extension associate. “We’ve been doing this for a number of years and people know this is a good place to get to know about healthcare services and healthcare issues.”
Booths with information on everything from nutrition and blood pressure to clinics and homecare professionals attended, along with doctors and nurses from the community.
“People shop for their healthcare now days,” said Anita Golden, of Strayhorn Family Medical Clinic. “I’ve been coming here for years because I get to see my patients when they are not sick. I also meet people who might later become a patient.”
The event also had a search dog and handler, eye clinics, vascular health and physical therapists attend.
The healthfair was held at the Senatobia Church of Christ.
