Tate County Circuit Court records show the following sentences were among those handed down during the January 2024 Vacation terms of court.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Gerald Chatham’s court:
• Buddy Wayne Redd, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve five years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) on a charge of uttering forgery. He had another charge of uttering forgery and a conspiracy charge remanded to the file. Redd must pay $3,565.16 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• Ronell Abram, of Southaven, was sentenced to post-release supervision in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of sale of controlled substance – methamphetamine as a habitual offender and recidivist. He must pay $2,544.90 in court costs.
• Bradley Thomas Gentry, of Hernando, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of simple assault on a law enforcement officer. He must pay $1,170.70 in court costs.
• Darrell Anthony Holland, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 355 days in MDOC and nine years, 10 days of post-release supervision in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of felon in possession of a weapon. He had a charge of possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine two grams but less than 10 grams remanded to the file. He must pay $2,151.50 in court costs.
• Demond Rodragues Jackson, of Senatobia, had his probation revoked to concurrently serve two five-year sentences in MDOC on two charges of drive-by shooting. He must pay $186.69 in court costs.
• Austin Lee Johnson, of Sarah, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of sale of controlled substance – fentanyl less than 10 dosage units. He had a charge of sale of controlled substance – fentanyl less than 10 dosage units – remanded to the file. Johnson must pay $2,125.70 in court costs.
• Douglas Ray Johnson, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years in MDOC and three years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine – two to 10 grams. He must pay $1,636.30 in court costs.
• Marjareas Katana Pickens, of Senatobia, had his probation revoked to serve seven years in MDOC on a charge of burglary of a vehicle. He must pay $16.80 in court costs.
• Demetrick Lashun Porter aka Kaycee Street, of Senatobia, was sentenced to six months suspended after a guilty plea on a misdemeanor charge of simple domestic assault. He must pay $1,272.75 in court costs.
• Robert Earl Reed III, of Senatobia was sentenced to five years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of simple assault on a law enforcement officer. He must pay $2,201.50 in court costs.
• Shawn Thomas Munns, of Coldwater, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of conspiracy to sell fentanyl. He had a charge of sale of fentanyl remanded to the file. Munns must pay $1,933.50 in court costs.
• Imani Omarius Holly, of Memphis, was sentenced to 12 years in MDOC and 20 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of armed robbery. He had a charge of conspiracy remanded to the file. Holly must pay $3,339.92 in court costs.
• Tristen Kane Sanders, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve six months in MDOC on a charge of fondling. He must pay $3,809.89 in court costs.
• Tristen Kane Sanders, of Coldwater, was sentenced to five years post-release supervision to run consecutively with previous sentencing after a guilty plea on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He must pay $2,006.50 in court costs.
• Robin Machel Tice, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 96 days in MDOC and four years, 269 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of conspiracy. She had a charge of felony taking of a motor vehicle remanded to the file. Tice must pay $5,168.81 in court costs.
• Liam Tristan Blake Waddell, of Hernando, was sentenced to five years post-release supervision in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of grand larceny. He had charges of conspiracy and burglary of a dwelling remanded to the file. Waddell must pay $1,732.70 in court costs.
• Bill Edward Ward, of Coldwater, was ordered to concurrently serve two 40-year sentences in MDOC after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of child pornography and a guilty plea on a charge of sexual battery of a child less than 14 years of age. He had nine charges of possession of child pornography and a charge of escape of prisoner remanded to the file. Ward must pay $1,565.40 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Earnest Mabry, of Senatobia, had his probation revoked to serve five years in MDOC on a charge of burglary of a dwelling. He must pay $2,906.37 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
