Tate County Circuit Court records show the following sentences were among those handed down during the June 2023 Vacation terms of court.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• Alvin Shundell Allen, of Southaven, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of felony fleeing. He must pay $1,648.50 in court costs.
• Brandon Ronald Archer, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 20 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and 20 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on charge of possession of methamphetamine – 30 grams or more trafficking as a habitual offender and recidivist. He had charge of felon in possession of a weapon remanded to the file. Archer must pay $6,606.90 in court costs.
• Bryan Keith Blackwell, of Tupelo, was sentenced to 15 years in MDOC and 15 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of sale fentanyl – 20 to 40 dosage units as a recidivist. He had a charge of conspiracy as a recidivist remanded to the file. Blackwell must pay $3,508.50 in court costs.
• Bryan Keith Blackwell, of Tupelo, was sentenced to 15 years in MDOC and 15 years post-release supervision to run concurrently with previous sentencing after a guilty plea on a charge of trafficking fentanyl – 40 or more dosage units as a recidivist. He had charges of possession of controlled substance – fentanyl as a recidivist, and possession of controlled substance – marijuana as a recidivist remanded to the file. Blackwell must pay $3,418.50 in court costs.
• Eddie Jerome Burton, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve 19 years and 184 days in MDOC on a charge of sale of methamphetamine – two grams but less than 10 grams as a habitual offender. He must pay $8,770.01 in court costs.
• Chaddrick Darrell Garrett, of Senatobia, was sentenced to eight years in MDOC after a guilty plea on a charge of sale of cocaine. He must pay $60.00 in court costs.
• Qyndarius Devonte Gross, of Sardis, was sentenced to five years in MDOC after a guilty plea to a charge of embezzlement – more than $1,000 but less than $5,000. He must pay $6,831.00 in court costs.
• Douglas Scott Pennington, of Pope, had his probation revoked to serve 10 years in MDOC on a charge of sale of methamphetamine. He must pay $6,386.16 in court costs.
• Ronnie Sipp, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve 21 days in MDOC on a charge of sale of cocaine – two grams but less than 10 grams. He must pay $5,110.00 in court costs.
• Corey Ward, of Crenshaw, was sentenced to five years suspended after a guilty plea on charge of receiving stolen property – $1,000 to $5,000. He must pay $1,200.62 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Randy Daniel House, of Batesville, was sentenced to three years in MDOC after a guilty plea on charge of sale of controlled substance – marijuana 30 grams or less. He had two charges of sale of controlled substance – marijuana 30 grams or less remanded to the file. House must pay $1,810.70 in court costs.
• Vincent Rico Ramsey, of Robinsonville, had his probation revoked to serve five years in MDOC on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He must pay $1,809.94 in court costs.
• Gregory Terell Williams, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve three years in MDOC on a charge of aggravated assault as a habitual offender. He must pay $1,041.91 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
