The Tate County Board of Supervisors held a regular meeting Monday, March 4, at the Tate County Courthouse.
The only item up for discussion from citizens was Nikki Durdin, a Tate County resident and member of the social media group Our Land Our Rights. Durdin wanted to discuss the Tate County zoning ordinance concerning the owning and placement of manufactured homes in the county. However, BOS President Tony Sandridge informed Durdin the matter is currently under litigation and the Board must wait on an order from the court before discussing or learning how to proceed.
The Board voted to accept and approve the following items on the consent agenda:
• Approve the Circuit Clerk and Election Commissioner Claims for services for purging the poll books (Wooten-$770.00, Johnston-$660.00, Dowl-$660.00, Floate-$440.00, Blount- $660.00, Blount-$550.00).
• Spread on the Minutes that the Board of Supervisors acknowledge receipt of the monthly credit card report for the previous month.
• Spread on the minutes that the Board of Supervisors acknowledge receipt of the Comparative Budget Report for the previous month.
• Approve the Justice Court Settlement in the amount of $61,356.27 and the warrant list.
• Approve the Solid Waste Department Settlement in the amount of $132,360.71.
• Approve the Planning Department Settlement in the amount of $12,077.08.
• Approve the payroll claim of $2,960.00 for 16 completed reports for the Coroner Ernie Lentz.
• Approve the payroll claim of $1,480.00 for 8 completed reports for the Deputy CoronerWhitney Nickels.
• Approve the Chancery Clerk’s claim for land redemptions.
• Approve the travel (to include registration, mileage, meals, and lodging if necessary) for Whitney Nickels to attend the 2024 MDIAI Educational Conference in Raymond, MS, April 8, 2024 – April 10, 2024.
• Approve the travel (to include registration, mileage, meals, if necessary) for Jennifer Bryok and Michelle Bray to attend the Human Trafficking Course in Hernando, MSMarch 12, 2024
• Spread on the minutes the transfer of inventory in the Election Commission office from Eddie Hadskey to Kenda Blount.
• Approve Solid Waste exemption at 7433 Hwy 305, Coldwater, MS 38618.
• Approve Solid Waste Back Door Service requests.
• Approve the travel (to include registration, mileage, meals, and lodging if necessary) for Board of Supervisors to attend the 2024 MS Planning and Development Districts Annual Conference in Biloxi, MS April 22, 2024 – April 27, 2024.
