The Lord set before us life and death. We must choose life for our children’s future. King Solomon said, "There is a way that seems right to a man" (Proverbs 4:12); however, Christians must set their Spiritual GPS to locate the narrow gate, which is pleasing to the Lord.
Commit yourself to the Lord. “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience” (Colossians 3:12). The instructions are recorded in the Word of God. We must make choices that build up and honor others. So, brothers and sisters, tell me, can you walk any way you wish in this life and still expect to enter heaven?
When you hear the truth and you are still mystified, remember, “the person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:14). So, examine yourself and know this: “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way” (Matthew 7:13). The Lord guards the way of the righteous; but finding the narrow road is not easy; it is paved with righteousness, endurance, and faithfulness, the things that pseudo-Christians ignore.
The journey demands discipline, devotion, and total surrender to God’s will. The shortcut many seek is full of pleasures but often ends in destruction. We are safe on the narrow road because the unclean do not travel it. Remember, those who choose the path of the wicked will perish (Psa. 1:6); so, let your faith in God guide your steps.
Jesus said, “Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14). Believe God and take His word seriously, because God will not lower His standards. John says, “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all” (1 John 1:5). We understand because we once walked in darkness on the broad road, but now we walk as children of light on the narrow road.
There is room on the broad road for personal opinions and moral leniency, not on the narrow road. There is tolerance for sin on the wide road, because there are no curbs or boundaries set for words or deeds. Traveling the broad road is easy because you can believe, say, and do whatever you desire.
Many do not choose the narrow road because on this road, Jesus speaks the truth. On the broad road, we can choose to listen to whomever our itching ears want to hear and still feel good about ourselves. Brothers and sisters, Jesus called us, chose us, and asked us to choose His Way, His Truth, and His Life. WARNING: TAKE THE NARROW ROAD!
