Close your eyes for a moment and meditate on some future time:
- Do you see a future following His Way and His Truth.
- Where10, 20, 30 years from now?
- If Satan enters your home, how would he get in?
Keep in mind that he can disguise himself as an angel of light, so you will not recognize him by the clothes he wears, his attitude, or his behavior. He will be kind, polite, joyful, and loving.
Add to your faith and recognize the many faces of Satan. It is no small feat to believe "He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world" (1 Jn. 4:4).
As a military spouse, I have seen many things, experienced many cultures and thus have come to believe “there is nothing new under the sun.” Satan has been playing the same tricks on humankind since the beginning. Satan gets in by convincing us to think more of ourselves than we ought.
He convinced Eve she could be omniscient (all-knowing), like God. God did not give Adam all power and knowledge because God wanted him to work with Eve.
God wants humankind to work together, helping each other reach their full potential.
This is why Scripture teaches, "The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you’” (1 Cor. 12:21).
Each of us is one of many. God uses us to reach the lost and build up those who belong to Him. As people are helped and blessed, they testify about the goodness of God and the encouragement He provides through His human representatives.
One encouraging comment can evolve into several comments. They are often verbalized through text messages and emails and are frequently repeated and shared.
If we allow our heads to swell with pride, that is when Satan causes us to think more of ourselves than we ought to.
Satan gets in by whispering in our ear that our teaching is old-fashioned and no longer relevant. He then suggests teaching something new that has appeal to the young crowd, which in itself creates another division.
We are all God’s people, and the young cannot say to the aged, “I don’t need you”. In the same sense, the aged cannot say to the young, “I don’t need you.”
When we teach the Word of God, we must do so as if we genuinely believe it is relevant. It is an old truth that has stood the test of time. Let us teach the Word of God in a manner that all God’s children get it.
There is nothing new under the sun. God's words are the same and as accurate today as they were yesterday.
To satisfy itching ears and trying to develop and teach a new theology can lead to saying things that are not congruent with the Word of God.
