As America plans for the 250th Anniversary on July 4th, Senatobia is prefacing that historic event with the 75th Annual Day of Prayer
The event will be held at the Haraway Center on the campus of Northwest Mississippi Community College, Thursday, May 7. It I sponsored by the NWCC Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The theme of this year’s prayer meeting is “Glorify God Among All Nations, Seek Him (Now) In All Generations” and is taken from 1 Chronicles 16:24
Prayer starts at high Noon on “The First Thursday in May.”
In 1952 a bill initiated by Mr. Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels and Senator Frank Carlson of Kansas was passed (Public Law 82-324, Sec. 119) that: The President shall set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. Local organizations are urged to also pray on this day as a sign of Christian unity and power in their communities.
The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize unified public prayer for America.
Senatobia’s National Day of Prayer will pray for local, state and national leaders.
The local event will open with a welcome by Dr. Michael Heindl, President Northwest Mississippi Community College and an overview of National Day of Prayer by Cynthia Todd, of LIFT Ministries and a regional National Day of Prayer coordinator for northwest Mississippi and MS National Governor’s Prayer Team coordinator.

We Believe
• The Holy Bible is the inspired, only, infallible, authoritative Word of The Living God.
• There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• The Lord is the Creator of all things in heaven and on earth; all things have been created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16, Genesis 1).
• In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory.
• That for salvation of lost and sinful men and women, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
• In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
• In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they who are saved unto resurrection life and they who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
• In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
