Nancy Darleen Diller
Nancy Darleen Diller died peacefully at home on March 30, 2025. She was surrounded by family and friends who were present throughout her illnesses and loved her until the end. Nancy was born on November 27, 1956, at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio to Edith Maddox Nichols. She graduated from Watkins Memorial High School and went on to earn her cosmetology license. She gave haircuts, perms and hairstyles to countless friends and family as long as she was able. In September of 1986, she married George Diller in Hereford, Texas. They began their married life globe-trotting from their home in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Exploring the world was always a part of their marriage and something she enjoyed with George throughout their life together. The travel bug was also passed down to their three children. Nancy homeschooled all three of her children until college, and said she felt like she never missed a moment. As they grew into adults, Nancy took several trips to see their various houses, colleges, apartments and cities and got to know them as adults. She was a welcoming Mother-in-law who took great joy in the relationships of her children. Nancy loved her two granddaughters and was the best Nana they could have asked for. One of her favorite things to do with them was bake and craft. She kept a craft dresser (among countless other toys) at her house just for the girls. Nancy loved sewing; a skill she shared with countless theater groups in the Memphis/North Mississippi area. She loved cooking and hosting any type of party or get-together. Making things was a staple of Nancy’s life, but the most important thing she made was a home where everyone was welcome, that was a place of refuge for countless friends and family members, and will always be remembered. She loved us really well, and is deeply loved in return. Those who remain are her husband of 39 years, George Diller, her children, Amy and Chris Guida, Melissa Diller, Daniel and Sarah Diller Escobedo, her granddaughters, Christina and Marcella, and her bonus children, Angel and Sean Sarich. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nephew Jeff Nichols and his wife Michelle, along with countless nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law. Nancy was an active member of Senatobia Presbyterian Church. Her funeral was held at the church on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 10:00 am. Visitation was Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 5pm-7pm at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Honorarium donations may be made out to Senatobia Presbyterian Church.
