    Two dead after truck leaves road

    A one-vehicle accident in Senatobia claimed the lives of two local men.

    Tate County Deputy Coroner Ernie Lentz said the crash occurred on Hammond Hill Road during the early morning hours Saturday, May 14.

    Lentz identified the deceased as Edwin “Mack” Burchfield III, 21, and Coleman Ward, 23, both of Senatobia.

    Couple charged with child abuse

    A local couple has been charged in connection with felony child abuse following an inquiry by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Senatobia Police Department.

    Detective Brannon Rushing identified the subjects as William T. Matthews, 27, and Patsy W. Matthews, 26, of the 200 block of Evelyn Street in Senatobia.
