It was a homecoming of sorts for Sherry Montgomery when she was named branch head librarian for Senatobia Public Library and Jessie J. Edwards Library in Coldwater in January.
Montgomery, who was previously library director for the Wilkinson County Library System in Woodville, Miss., replaced former branch head librarian Kristin Causey at both Senatobia and Coldwater.
“I feel as though I have returned home and I am very excited to be a part of this welcoming community,” Montgomery said. “I look forward to serving the citizens of Senatobia and Tate County and becoming more involved with the community.”
Montgomery served as librarian and instructor at Coldwater High School from 2002 through 2009, and was selected Teacher of the Year in Tate County for the 2006-07 school year.
Montgomery said she left Coldwater ‘to pursue a career in the public library sector where she felt I could have a greater impact in the lives of others.’
After receiving an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Mississippi, Montgomery earned her graduate degree in library and information science in 2009 from Kent State University.
