A bomb threat at a local fast-food restaurant remains under investigation by the Senatobia Police Department.
Lieutenant Brannon Rushing from the SPD Criminal Investigations Division said officers were dispatched Sunday, June 12, at approximately 3:05 p.m., to McDonald’s at 203 Norfleet Drive after the restaurant received a bomb threat call.
Officers evacuated nearby businesses and closed a large section of Norfleet Drive for over an hour as a deputy from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department and his K-9 partner trained in the detection of explosives conducted a search of the area.
Rushing said no explosive devices were located before the scene was deemed safe for return to business as usual at approximately 4:12 p.m. and Norfleet Drive was opened to traffic.
An investigation into the origin of the call is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the person(s) responsible for the threat are urged to contact the Senatobia Police Department at 662-562-5643.
