A member of a construction crew died last week in a Senatobia subdivision, according to local authorities.
The 23-year old Memphis man, whose name was not released, was reportedly electrocuted while operating a boom truck in West Point Communities on Wednesday, Jan. 6. An eyewitness said the man was unloading sheetrock into an upstairs window of a residence under construction before the truck’s crane swung around and hit a power pole.
Tate County E911 dispatched emergency first responders to the area after receiving a call that someone had been electrocuted.
Authorities said the man was transported by ambulance to Panola Medical Center in Batesville, but did not survive.
The incident remains under investigation by the Senatobia Police Department.
