Georgia Pearl Simms Tanksley, 86, of Arkabutla, Mississippi passed away on September 24, 2021 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1935 and worked as a forestry tower fire observer for the Mississippi Forestry Service until retirement. She was also a former member of the Eudora Baptist Church.A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando, Mississippi. Interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Arkabutla, Mississippi She was the widow of C.B. Tanksley and is survived by her daughters, Georgia Marie Hunt and Patricia Gale Houston and seven grandchildren; Amanda, Robbie, Matt, Holly, Bobby, Selena and Jennifer; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Ethan, Talan, Abby, Ally, Nathan, Kimberlee, Victoria, Jorge, Summer, Anna and Kenadee and one Great-Great-Granddaughter; Samantha She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Gracie Simms, her husband, C.B. Tanksley, her daughter, Teresa L. Tanksley and her son, Eddie B. Tanksley
