Northwest volleyball fans anticipating the Lady Rangers home-opener will not have to wait as long as previously expected.
Announced by head coach Allison Burchyett, Northwest is now slated to begin its 2021 season at home on Friday, August 20 at 5 P.M., when the Lady Rangers host Region 23 nemesis Pearl River at Howard Coliseum.
Additionally, Northwest will also co-host an invitational tournament with Itawamba from September 17-18, with matches taking place on both campuses. The Lady Rangers will host three matches on Friday, Sept. 17, beginning with a 1 P.M. tilt against Southern Union State Community College. A neutral-site match between Cleveland State and Snead State is scheduled to follow at 3 P.M., before the Lady Rangers re-take the floor against Cleveland State at 5 P.M.
Action on Saturday, Sept. 18 is expected to begin at 9 A.M. with a match against Pearl River and Snead State, followed by the Lady Rangers' first match of the day against St. Louis Community College at 11. Pearl River and St. Louis will then tangle at 1 P.M., as Northwest and Snead State close out the weekend's action at 3 P.M.
Another adjustment to the schedule includes a newly-scheduled match at Coastal Alabama-South on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 2 P.M. The Lady Rangers are still scheduled to travel to Coastal Alabama-East on Friday, Sept. 24 and Pensacola State on Sunday, Sept. 26.
