James Ernest Fortner, Jr., 70. Former Mississippi resident, James E. Fortner Jr., “Hoss/Hammer”, 70, died December 31, 2021, under hospice care in Oklahoma City, Okla. Mr. Fortner was born April 22, 1951 in Clarksdale Miss. to James and Daphner Fortner. James worked many years as a truck driver and loved traveling the states. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his children, Misty Fortner of Belleville, Mich., Jamie Fortner of Strayhorn, Miss., and five grandchildren Zachary Hudzinski, Jonathan Hudzinski, Carsyn Fortner, MacKenna Fortner and Ethan Fortner; and his two nephews James “Jim” Wollfolk of Sarah, Miss. and William “Bill” Woolfolk or Euless, Texas. James leaves behind his former spouse of 23 years, Barbara Fortner of Senatobia, Miss.
