In a rare trip across state lines, the Senatobia track programs racked up several top finishes in the Bartlett-hosted Mid-South Relays over the weekend.
Senatobia had several first-place individual winners, highlighted by junior Meagan Richardson and juniors JaBrysten Abram and Tracy Williams. Richardson broke her own personal records in both discus and shot put, winning first in discus with a 106-07 result and a runner-up finish in shot put, earning a mark of 33-00.00.
Other top finishers for the Lady Warriors included sophomore Madison Jordan, who placed second in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, finishing with times of 2:45.04 and 6:22.16, respectively. Freshman Madison Roberts finished third in the 800-meter run with a 2:50.50 time, while sophomore Ella Oursler placed third in the 1600-meter run at 6:24.16.
Additionally, the Lady Warriors’ 4x100-meter relay team earned top marks, while the 4x200-meter relay team earned third and the 4x400-meter team finished second.
For the Senatobia boys’ team, Abram led the way with a first-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles, earning a 40.77 result. He also placed second in the 200-meter dash and 110-meter hurdles, finishing with results of 22.86 and 16.00, respectively.
Meanwhile, Williams earned a pair of first place results in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, finishing with times of 2:07.91 and 4:47.56. Additionally, junior Chavarius Garrett placed first in discus with a 132-00.00 result, while placing third in shot put with a 37-08.50 result.
Senior Brandon Williams also placed runner-up in both the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run, tallying 51.37 and 2:11.39 times. Sophomore Austin Winstead placed second in the 800-meter and 1600-meter events, collecting times of 2:12.80 and 4:56.62.
Lastly, the Senatobia 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relay teams earned second place finishes, while the 4x400-meter relay squad went third.
