After suffering a loss to rival North Panola the week before, Senatobia avenged its loss to the Cougars with a pre-Christmas road win in Sardis last Tuesday, earning a 76-69 victory.
Both teams were all knotted up at the end of the first period, locked in a 12-12 tie. The second quarter proved to be a back-and-forth affair as well, with North Panola gaining a slight 26-25 edge at halftime.
Senatobia finally created a little separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Cougars 26-10 over an eight-minute span to gain a 51-36 lead. Despite a furious North Panola rally, the Warriors held on down the stretch to pull out the road win and earn an even split against their non-conference rivals.
Jagger Young led the Warriors with a 27-point performance, followed closely by Khalil Washington’s impressive 26-point effort. Carlous Robinson also accounted for 10 points, after being held scoreless in the opening half.
With the win, Senatobia improved to 3-7 on the season with all three victories coming in the last four games.
