Senatobia and Tate County schools, like most schools across the state, are making decisions on holding classes as needed after this week's frigid and icy winter storm.
Senatobia Municipal School District said its schools will be closed for the rest of the week.
Tate County Schools will be closed Wednesday, and school officials have said they will post a decision regarding Thursday classes on Wednesday by 6 pm.
Northwest Community College's campus in Senatobia has released a statement saying classes are being held virtually.
'Due to ongoing road conditions and other effects caused by the winter storm, Northwest Mississippi Community College will continue virtual instruction through Wednesday, 1/28/26," Northwest said in a statement. "All campuses and facilities remain closed."

For some colleges still dealing with power outages, that meant ensuring students and others on campus had warm places to retreat to and hot meals regardless of whether they have paid meal plans.
Delta State University, for example, will open its Statesman’s Shelf Food Pantry on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Young-Mauldin Cafeteria will be open through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the university. Delta State students and essential staff can eat hot meals in the cafeteria and take home bagged dinners when they stop by for brunch, spokeswoman Suzette Matthews said in an email. Officials aim to return to regular hours and offering three meals a day by Thursday, Matthews said.
“And we are SO SO thankful for our staff for making this happen,” Matthews said in the email.
In a Monday Facebook post, Delta State President Daniel Ennis noted lingering safety concerns such as icy roads around campus and interruptions in cell phone service.
“We’re having a cold day on campus, but with power and food; we’re better off than some,” Ennis wrote. “Our facilities crew continues to make progress clearing paths, and the student center has been opened for off-campus students who are still without power.”
K–12 schools across the state are also responding to lingering weather hazards. Roughly half of Mississippi’s public school districts closed or implemented virtual learning on Monday. Dozens plan to remain closed Tuesday or for longer.
