A man arrested in 2021 for stealing a motorcycle has been sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court.
Records show Billy Joe Jaco Jr., 38, of Coldwater was ordered to serve 122 days in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and four years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to grand larceny.
According to a report from the Tate County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation began after a motorcycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Hunters Chapel Road near Strayhorn on June 4, 2021.
Jaco developed as a suspect after the motorcycle was recovered a week later in the 5000 block of Highway 305 in Coldwater, the report stated.
Jaco was originally charged with grand larceny and booked at the Tate County Jail under a $5,000 bond. He was indicted by the Tate County Grand Jury in October 2021.
