A local man charged in connection with inappropriate contact with a minor was sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court earlier this month.
Court documents show Ronald Gene Hood, 66, of Senatobia, pleaded guilty to one count of fondling and was ordered to serve six years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and five years post-release supervision.
Hood was taken into custody by Senatobia police in October of 2020. Detective Brannon Rushing from the Criminal Investigations Division of the Senatobia Police Department said his office opened an inquiry after being notified of sexual abuse allegations against Hood in connection with a minor.
Enough information was gathered for probable cause by conducting interviews and sifting through independent evidence to formally charge Hood, according to Rushing. Hood was indicted by the Tate County Grand Jury in January.
