David Burkhead, 79, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away on February 27, 2026, at his residence.
He coached football and golf at Senatobia High School, leading the golf program to multiple state championships. In addition to his years in education, David worked at Moore Chevrolet and Fred's Inc.
He also faithfully cared for the pool at Back Acres County Club. David was a proud University of Tennessee fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Burkhead; daughters, Gina Burkhead Burge (Scott) and Betsy Burkhead Bernhard (Travis), and grandchildren, Addy Bernhard, Ansley Bernhard, Maryn Burge, Tatum Burge, and Bennett Bernhard.
Memorials may be sent to Senatobia First Methodist Church where he was a member.
Services were held Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Senatobia First Methodist Church.
Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
