The concept of a "Daily Walk with God" is central to the Christian life, emphasizing a continuous, personal relationship with the Creator after salvation. It is a journey of faith, growth, and transformation, reflecting the believer's commitment to live according to God's will for your life. This walk is characterized by daily devotion, prayer, meditation on Scripture, and obedience to God's commandments. Salvation and becoming a Christian are obtained through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and what God did for you through His Son on the cross.
John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is the exclusive pathway to God the Father and the source of true life. Becoming a Christian necessitates acknowledging Jesus as the only means of salvation, recognizing His divine role as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
God's Word has much to say about salvation. Romans 10:9 tells us, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection are central to becoming a Christian. This verse highlights the significance of both verbal confession and internal conviction as part of the process of salvation.
Ephesians says, 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Becoming a Christian is not based on our own efforts or good works but is entirely a result of God’s grace. This verse emphasizes the gift of salvation through faith and exposes the futility of trying to earn or boast about it through works.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”. When a person becomes a Christian, they experience a spiritual transformation. This verse emphasizes the reality that in Christ, we are made new, set free from the old ways, and engaged in a life characterized by righteousness and godliness.
John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”. Becoming a Christian grants the incredible privilege of being adopted into God’s family. This verse emphasizes the personal nature of receiving Jesus and believing in His ability to save, resulting in being identified as children of God.
Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Repentance, which involves our willingness to turn from one direction to another must come first, baptism simply symbolizes that choice and highlights the importance of turning away from or dying to our old sinful self and ways, by publicly declaring our faith and what we have done through baptism. Every Believer once saved receives the Holy Spirit of God Himself as a gift. This gift confirms our salvation as we experience the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit as God Himself comes and dwells in us as a seal of His presence and protection. If we have genuinely believed and placed our trust in the work that God's Son did on the cross, we too can experience salvation and freedom from our sin.
Christians are people who have put their trust in God's only Son, Jesus Christ and should and will seek to follow Him.1 John 2:6 says, “Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked”. 1 Peter 2:21 tells us, “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps”
The Christian walk involves a new way of thinking. When we follow Christ, we are joined to Him and should be striving to put away our old ways and embrace the new life we have in Christ. Ephesians 4:17 says, “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds,”. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come." So, for those that are in Christ, God has made them a new creation. Everything old in their past has passed away and has become new! Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.
If you are not yet a Christian my friend, may I encourage you to pray to God, confessing your sin and placing your faith in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus. Find a Bible believing church, jump in God's Word and start growing and walking with Him and know that you know, that you have eternal life.
Hold Fast,
