A local man was arrested and charged in connection with insurance fraud after investigators discovered he was involved in stealing his own lawn equipment.
The suspect, identified by Captain Lisa Sanders of the Tate County Sheriff’s Office, as Steven Ross Anglin, 34, of Senatobia, was indicted by the Tate County Grand Jury in July and taken into custody Thursday, Aug. 19.
Anglin was held at the Tate County Jail under a $10,000 bond. He has a date set for Aug. 27 to appear in Tate County Circuit Court.
Sanders said Anglin reported a trailer loaded with four zero turn mowers, a backpack blower, line trimmer, pole saw and chainsaw stolen from his residence in the 1400 block of Yellowdog Road during the morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 18. Numerous garden tools including rakes and shovels were also on the trailer.
The crime was also posted on the Tate County Crime Stoppers Facebook page offering a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest or recovery of the stolen merchandise.
Sanders said the trailer and equipment were recovered in Panola County and an investigation led to Anglin being involved in their disappearance. T
