Mississippi Center for Re-Entry is a nonprofit serving the areas of Desoto, Tunica, Marshall, and Tate counties specializing in various programs that help the formally incarcerated transition back into society.
Southaven, MS (October 25, 2021) Mississippi Center for Re-entry was founded by Cynetra Freeman on April 21, 2017. The mission of this organization is to make access to second chances in counties in the northwest part of Mississippi. This organization wants to shed light on those who have been pushed aside and become a voice for them during their time of getting back on their feet. The vision of the Mississippi Center for Re-entry is to have a state of being where 100% of people in the reentry community receives full support and tools they need to move forward with their lives.
Mississippi Center for Re-Entry offers different programs that help benefit the individual back into reintegration. Featured programs include the Restored Re-entry Program (RRP) which is the in-jail and prison adult re-entry program and our entrepreneurship program for Mississippi returning citizens in partnership called The Entrepreneurship Project (TAEP). There is also an enrollment process for our program.
Since being in existence, Mississippi Center for Re-Entry has worked to increase growth, awareness, and proficiency in providing re-entry services. Re-entry is one of the most successful tools that can be provided to returning citizens that will help decrease over-incarceration, reduce recidivism, boost our state economic system and increase public safety in our communities. Mississippi Re-Entry serves Desoto, Marshall, Tunica, and Tate counties.
