With the start of the spring rodeo season roughly two months away, the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association has officially confirmed the second half schedule for the remaining 2021-22 Ozark Region schedule.
Highlighting the spring schedule is the return of the annual Northwest Rodeo, which is once again slated to take place from April 28-30 at the Northwest Multipurpose Arena. For the last three seasons, the event has served as the Ozark Region's regular season finale, featuring competitors making their final push in the standings in hopes of clinching slots to the College National Finals Rodeo.
More information on the Northwest Rodeo will be released in the weeks ahead of the event on nwccrangers.com.
As for the rest of the schedule, Northwest will pick up competition at East Mississippi on March 17-19, followed by a three-day swing at Pearl River from March 24-26. From there, the Rangers will travel to UT Martin (April 7-9) and Arkansas-Monticello (April 21-23).
Northwest currently sits in eighth place in the overall men's standings with 410 points, while the Lady Rangers are placed 10th with 70 team points. Individually, bull rider Colby Burgess ranks third overall in his event standings with 200 points, followed by Cody Gilbert and Zachary Johnson at sixth and eighth place, respectively.
Additionally, Riley Lenagar is sitting at 14th among the top 15 in barrel racing standings, with a total of 70 points overall.
