The Senatobia Lions Club along with Batesville and Oxford Clubs provided vision screening for the Clen Moore Headstart Center in Coldwater and Tattletales Day Care in Senatobia.
The machine that is used is called PlusOptix. This device can screen for possible vision issues with these children such as lazy eye or stigmatism as examples. When the machine screens “referral” then the parent is given a notice that a professional visit might be in order, otherwise it will screen “pass”.
The process takes only a few seconds once the child sits and the machine is started. There’s no charge for this service and the children do not have to register. The club does not gather any personal information. The referrals are handed to those in charge of the facility and they pass the information to the parents.
The Senatobia Lions Club is currently working on getting a machine for the club. But currently have access to these machines.
If you’re interested in having vision screening done for your group at your day care, school or other facility. To reserve a time, you may contact the Senatobia Lions Club at dbwooten7412@att.net or 662-560-7412.
