The Senatobia Home and Garden Club visited the campus of Northwest Mississippi Community College on April 13.
The group were led on a tour by Len Lawhon, a horticulturist with the college. Lawhon gave the group a list of trees and plants to identfy on their visit to the campus.
The group was introduced to several rare varieties of trees, exotic plants and bushes during the tour. Lawhon was informative during the tour and showcased several secret gardens located around the college grounds.
After the tour, the club dined with Dr. Michael Heindl, President of NWCC. During the lunch, Dr. Heindl informed the group of upcoming events and projects to take place at the college, including a new performing arts building, a new women’s dormitory and a new complex to be located between the soccer and baseball fields.
