The sights and smells of Christmas welcomed the members of the Senatobia Cosmopolitan Club to the home of Mrs. Jennifer Heindl who hosted the December meeting.
Festive and beautifully decorated Christmas trees throughout the home along with other charming, exquisite decor provided a wonderful reminder of the beginning of the Christmas Season, and the smell of apple cider along with scrumptious delicacies delighted all who attended.
Following a stirring devotional entitled "The Ten Commandments of Christmas," given by Mrs. Louise McKellar, Mrs. Sybil Canon, Program Leader, introduced the program that was led by Mrs. Heindl, who is a Nurse Practitioner, currently practicing at RedMed Urgent Clinic. Mrs. Heindl provided both a clinical and personal look at COVID-19 and the implications of the pandemic on the healthcare profession as well as those personally affected by this virus.
She spent a week during the pandemic working at the Samaritan's Purse clinic that was set up in New York City. This was in addition to dealing with the needs at RedMed from the beginning of the pandemic and continuing to the present time. Mrs. Heindl shared that she views her work in healthcare, not only as a clinician but also as a way to minister with compassion to the needs of her patients.
She encouraged the members to be both safe and smart, without being fearful, in dealing with COVID-19. The meeting ended with Mrs. Heindl leading the members in the singing of Christmas carols. The beautiful harmony of the voices was a special reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, the Savior for all mankind.
