Proverbs 29:20
See thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Are we sometimes hasty in our words? Yes. Speak too much, to fast, without any thought of “Will this be pleasing to God? Will it edify? Or will it destroy?’
The bible doesn’t speak to highly of a fool
Proverbs 29:11 - A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keep it in till afterwards
. Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 18:6 - A fool's lips enter contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
A fool is one who uses his tongue unwisely. One who must have the last word, one who must tell someone off, one who tries to break a person down by slander or gossip, one who uses foul words to make a point
Obviously People love to hear this kind of talk, ugly jokes, standup comedy , its always ugly
People love to hear a lie, or gossip or slander, a juicy bit of information.
Proverbs 18:21 “ death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”
Romans 1:28-32 Paul gives a list of people he says do not like to retain God in their minds, backbiters and whisperers and boasters are in this list.
These people are fools, or worse than fools
Let’s strive to be Godly, watch what you say and do and think
Colossians 3:8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
