In Matthew 28:16-17, after Jesus’ death, and resurrection, the eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. This raises the question: Why do you doubt?
There are many reasons for doubt. It could come from unanswered questions, situations that seem unfair, or hurts that you can't resolve. However, it's important to remember that faith is a journey, not a destination. Both the church and the home should be the safest places to ask hard questions and seek understanding.
The strongest faith isn’t a faith that never doubts, but one that grows through your doubts.
Remember, that doubt is not the opposite of faith; it is an element of faith. Jesus is not a distant Savior who remains detached from our doubts. Just like the disciple Thomas, who asked questions and received answers from Jesus, we too can approach Him with our doubts. God welcomes our questions and seeks to provide guidance and clarity.
We must understand that doubts do not disqualify our faith. In fact, they can often serve as an invitation to develop a deeper, more profound faith. While the devil may try to use doubts to drive us away from God, we can allow God to use our doubts to draw us closer to Him.
Remember, never doubt in the dark what God has revealed to you in the light.
Faith isn't the absence of doubt; it is the means by which we push through doubt. As Psalm 23:4 reminds us, even in the darkest valley, we need not fear danger because God is with us, comforting and guiding us. Therefore, when we find ourselves walking through the shadow of doubt, we cannot allow doubt to become a dead end. Instead, we should seek community and support, for the Spirit's leading is always with us.
In Jeremiah 29:13-14, it is proclaimed that those who seek God with all their hearts will find Him. If you have doubts, struggles, uncertainty about the future, questions, baggage, secret addictions, church hurt, or find yourself lost for words, come to Jesus. He awaits your arrival and is ready to provide solace, understanding, and direction.
So, keep walking, keep asking, and keep searching. Embrace your doubts as a spark for growth and deepening your faith. Remember, in your journey of faith, doubt is not an obstacle but an opportunity for an encounter with God.
