The Gothic sanctuary of Senatobia Presbyterian Church has presided over West Main Street for nearly a century. As a beautiful downtown landmark, a place of worship for all, and a base of service to our neighbors through C.O.M.F.O.R.T. meals and other ministries, the church is a fixture of the Senatobia community.
The sanctuary’s stained-glass window panels make it one of the most distinctive places of worship in our area. Their symbolism serves as aids to worship, too. One window pictures a dove and olive sprig, representing forgiveness and renewal. Another window pictures a stand of wheat that reminds us of the bread of life each time we take communion. The stained-glass shield above the sanctuary’s front door symbolizes the armor of our faith for all who pass by or gather in its pews to worship.
These beautiful, inspiring windows are showing their age. As stewards of this house of God, the church congregation has begun a fundraising campaign to restore them. Willet-Hauser Architectural Design & Glass studio has contracted to carry out the repair and restoration, and the church is calling for donations to complete the project. If you would like to contribute, please give online through the church’s website www.senatobiapres.org via Tithe.ly, or donations may be mailed directly to the church:
