The Baddour Center recently added some additional afternoon classes for our residents to enjoy. We have held several different classes – Cooking, Men’s social hour, Women’s Spa Day, Line Dancing, Fishing, Poetry, and Science!
However, one class that has stood out as an early favorite is Photography!!! For our second Photography class, we ventured out into our lovely and inviting community so our new budding resident photographers could capture some of the cool sights of Senatobia.
Residents stopped to snap photos of Senatobia’s flower arrangments, Pocket Park, and the gorgeous Tate County mural. We enjoyed our outing so much and saw so many local businesses that we had never gotten a chance to visit before! We talked about it and decided that we would like to pick a new local business each month to “spotlight” so that we can get to know it better.
This month, we chose, Mac and Charlie’ Soda Shoppe. It is located at 102 N Front Street. It is the perfect place to visit if you want to cool off during these hot summer months! They have some of the best frozen treats in town!
Jennifer and Dave, both members of the Baddour Center Photography Club, stopped by on August 10th to present the owner of Mac and Charlie’s, Mollie Spencer, with the “Community Spotlight” award and also to sample some of their delicious ice cream!!!
Mrs. Mollie stated, “It is an honor to be chosen by the Baddour Center and to receive their first Community Spotlight Award!” Mrs. Mollie told us a little about the process of opening her business and also how Mac and Charlie’s got its name – from her children! There is a cool mural inside of them.
And while Dave and Jennifer both loved their ice cream, Jennifer was almost more excited about Mollie’s other business next door. A pharmacy! Not only can you pick your medicine up, but you can pick up some neat southern gifts to decorate your home or give as a gift! All pictures from Mac and Charlie’s were taken by Dave and Jennifer!
