The window to vote absentee in the 2022 General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 8 is rapidly closing.
In-person and mail-in absentee ballots remain available through the Tate County Circuit Clerk’s Office. To verify eligibility, Mississippians can utilize the “Step-By-Step Absentee Guide” on the website of Secretary of State’s Office or call the circuit clerk’s office.
For those who cannot visit the circuit clerk’s office during the work week, in-person absentee voting is set for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. until noon. All mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within five business days of Nov. 8 in order to count.
The Statewide Election Management System (SEMS) reported a total of 17,693 absentee ballots were requested, 16,884 absentee ballots sent, and 10,186 absentee ballots received in Mississippi as of Sunday, Oct. 23.
In Tate County, 75 absentee ballots have been requested and sent, while 42 ballots have been received and accepted.
The requested total reflects the number of Mississippi voters who have applied for an absentee ballot through their local circuit clerk’s office.
