A man is dead and a woman is fighting for her life after a double shooting in Coldwater on Easter Sunday.

 

According to Coldwater Police Chief Undra Todd, the incident happened Sunday, April 1, near the 700 block of Parkway Street at approximately 11:55 p.m.

 

A man, identified by Todd as 28-year old Rodney Wilkins, was killed in the shooting.

 

A woman, Todd identified as 24-year old LaShanda Johnson, was shot and rushed to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis where she is listed in critical condition.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed Tuesday, April 3, that Otis R. Minor of Senatobia was charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the incident. Minor is being held at the Tate County Jail.


The investigation is a coordinated effort between Coldwater Police, officials from the Tate County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI).
