Clint Darling, 36, of Senatobia, passed away December 23, 2016 at his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Orman Shearer and stepfather John T. Shearer both of Senatobia; father, Michael A. Darling Sr. of Southaven; grandparents, Maxine Purdy of Como, and Mattie Ross of Strayhorn; sisters, Becky Tedford (Joey) of Senatobia and Catherine Darling of Hernando; brothers, Michael Darling Jr. and Mark Darling both of Senatobia.
A memorial service was held Monday, December 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Coldwater where he was a member.
Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
George Alois Hertl
George Alois Hertl, 70, passed away on December 25, 2016 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
He was a Professor teaching psychology and health at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 at Senatobia Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kristine Hertl of Hernando; daughter, Anne Elise Hertl of Hernando; two sons, Jordan Hertl of Atlanta, Ga. and Justin Hertl (Natalie) of Oxford; one brother, Henry Hertl of Lake Geneva, Wisc.; and two grandchildren, Bryce and Anders.
Brantley Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando had charge of the arrangements.
Gus O’Neal, Jr.
Gus O’Neal Jr., 86, of Eupora, formerly of Senatobia passed away December 24, 2016.
He was retired U.S. Air Force and then worked as a public information representative with the MS State Board of Health.
He is survived by his wife, Maurice Williams O’Neal of Eupora; daughters, Linda O’Neal Cox (David) of Santa Fe, N.M., Cheryl O’Neal Grisham (Kenny) of Collierville, Tenn., Cindy O’Neal Cox of Eupora; son, James Parker O’Neal (Amy) of Hot Springs, Ark.; sisters, Winnie Partain of Mooreville, and Shirley Walton (Veldon) of Coldwater; brother, William Boyd O’Neal (Phyllis) of Villa Rica, Ga.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna O’Neal.
Services were held Tuesday, December 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora. Burial was Wednesday, December 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.
Elizabeth Kay Ray Smith
Elizabeth Kay Ray Smith, 73, of Lake Cormorant, passed away December 27, 2016 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Samuel Gene Smith and Boyce McKay Smith and father, Kay Ray.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Smith of Lake Cormorant; mother Louise Ray of Senatobia; grandchildren, Heather Paige Spellman and Haley McKay Smith and great grandson, Parker McKay Spellman.

Roy Wallace Thomas, Sr.
Roy Wallace Thomas, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016. He is survived by his mother, Melba Thomas Beaty; wife, Marilyn Thomas; daughter, Melinda McCleer (James); son, Roy “Rocky” Wallace Thomas, Jr. (Angie); grandchildren, Shalee McCleer Whitsell (Kevin), Spencer Thomas and Alexis Thomas; siblings, Vicky Turner, Paulette Vemon, Annie Louse Bailey, and Phillip Thomas.

Cat Yancey, 84, of Independence, passed away December 26, 2016 at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay Taylor of Independence; Judy Justice of Greenleaf, and Terrie Johnson of Sardis; son, Ronnie Brandon of Independence; step daughters, Debbie Sy and Melissa Justice; sister, Peggy Shepard of Horn Lake; brother, Wyatt Moncrief, Jr. of Wakefield; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Greenleaf Cemetery.
